Well, thought I’d take a break from the dream journal format we’ve been running with here for the past few months, and give our longtime Dream Seeker fans a quick update on the upcoming novels/ebooks coming from your friends at the DailySkew:
- There are currently three Dream Seeker novels that have been written and are in the midst of being edited. They are titled Anachron, Killer of Icons, and Empty Caveats. You can check out our Dream Seeker Wiki for chapter titles.
These novels will definitely be released in ebook format, one at a time, sometime before the next asteroid strike or 2012, whichever comes first. Seriously, I’m hoping for Fall of 2010, at the latest.
We have not decided if we will be making a hardcover edition available or not. We’d like to make a dent in the Kindle market, and see how things go.
I may be designing the covers myself, including black and white sketch artwork (yes, on top of everything else, I can draw a little). We’ll see.
- I am also at work on a Dream Seeker Return of Joshua audio book. I’ll be reading the chapters and encorporating sound effects and music, depending on the scene being read. I definitely want an entertaining, theatre-of-the-mind kind of experience. I’ve completed Chapter 1, and so far so good. Damian’s given my reading two thumbs up!
- I’m currently exploring some side characters and laying the groundwork for future Dream Seeker projects and promotions on the Skew Short Stories blog. I’ve been wanting to get back to putting up free short fiction tales online for awhile now, as a way to introduce new readers to our crazy and innovative style of storytelling. I hope it will lead to good things.
- Believe it or not, there’s also a Soul Patrol/Shadow Gentleman novel in the works. Basically, it’s two separate storylines collected in one edition, involving popular characters from the Dream Seeker Universe. The stories continue from where Return of Joshua left off. I’ll give you more details as that novel nears completion.
